Ben Killoy, of the Military Veteran Dad podcast, is on a mission to bring every dad home. Ben has gone from being paralyzed by fear to realizing that being a dad can help us find courage in life and that you’re always one conversation away from greatness. In this episode we discuss how Ben uses getting outside of his comfort zone to help show up fully for his family and as a father.
“You don’t find your passion. You follow your curiosity and it will lead you to your passion.”
– Ben Killoy
After serving overseas in the US Marine Corp, Ben found himself in a rut and trying to follow a default formula that left him unclear on his talents, experience, or unique value. Now Ben has found his passion and purpose in being a father and helping everyone from his children to veteran dads make courageous decisions, one little step each day, to be present today and to create the tomorrow of their dreams.
“The hope of humanity doesn’t lie in the internet. The hope of humanity lies in human connection.”
– Ben Killoy
BEN KILLOY
Ben Killoy is a veteran of the US Marine Corp who lives in Milton, WI with his wife and three kids 7, 5, and 3. He served from 2003-2007, most of that time in Okinawa with 4 trips to South Korea including staring down North Korea in the DMZ.
After leaving the service, Ben wandered without a clear path or recognition of his passion, experience, and skills. A seminar reignited his passion for leadership and ever since Ben has been on a journey to master leadership principles and understand his true capabilities to own his life and choices.
Now Ben uses his passion for leadership to help Military Veteran Dads understand who they are, develop the skills to overcome adversity and own their life and choices. He help dads come home to their families and make the strongest legacy any of us will have – our family.
What Ben loves most about leadership is reaching down and pulling people up when others might have pushed them down.
