In the powerful and insightful episode 8 interview with Krav Maga Chief Instructor CJ Kirk, we talked about purpose and service and how crisis and adversity in life can and will lead to equally opposite positive experiences. This week, Meredith Kirk bravely shares the shocking tragedy that shattered her family and faith at a young age and drove her into a life of isolation and anger.
“Anger was reliable. Anger helped me justify why someone couldn’t be a part of my life. It seemed like a good tool that was protecting me but ultimately it was just shielding me from actually building meaningful relationships and have community, which is what I needed.”
– Meredith Kirk
Coming up in Part 2 (Episode 017) – This is also a story of incredible resilience, going from feeling broken and helpless to finding empowerment, community, and literally family. On her journey as a Krav Maga student and then coach, Meredith found the tools and support to work through the PTS of what she experienced and witnessed as a 12 year old child. Additional to now coaching and leading others, in a renewal of faith Meredith is entering seminary to follow a calling to the ministry.
“You can look back at different parts of your life and see these glimpses of things that you’re really passionate about.”
– Meredith Kirk
